Set at the center of a finely manicured natural landscape, 12,000 sq. ft. of Stonewood Architectural Panels furnish the exterior walls of the Forest History Society in Durham, North Carolina.
Designed by DTW Architects & Planners, Ltd,. the new build houses a nonprofit dedicated to the collecting, preserving, and disseminating of forest history and is appropriately nestled in a preserved wooded area.
The project features multiple wood products and other sustainable features, resulting in 770 metric tons of avoided carbon greenhouse emissions. The warm-tone Stonewood panels paired with Stonewood Exposed Color-Matched Fasteners offers a simple, natural aesthetic while providing highly durable cladding and protection against moisture, bacteria build-up, and 99% of damaging UV rays.
