Over 13,000 sq. ft. of Stonewood Architectural panels were installed on Courtyard Marriot in Anchorage, AK. The new building features an inviting Stonewood woodgrain with neutral undertones as well as solid panels in a modern gray hue. With construction taking place over winter in Alaska, Stonewood was selected over multiple other cladding options as the best material to withstand the harsh elements. Despite initial challenges presented with corporate color matching, Stonewood’s vast design selection allowed architects to create the ideal modern and cohesive atmosphere—a welcomed transformation from the previous courtyard Marriott exterior design. As the fourth Courtyard Marriot renovation to use Stonewood, the project manager confidently noted that new Stonewood exterior is “vastly superior to the prototypical Courtyard finishes of stucco and fiber-cement board,” and they would recommend it for future projects.
Now completed, the hotel offers upscale amenities as well as long and short term stays. The custom elements were designed to enrich the guest experience and support each visitor on their journey, with positive reviews already coming from Marriott, guests, and hotel staff.
